  • Our Father

The Our Father is taught by Jesus in the Gospels, is for worship, petition, and forgiveness, encapsulating core Christian beliefs. It originates from Christ’s instruction to His disciples, serving as a model for prayer and aligning our hearts with God’s will.

  • The Hail Mary

The Hail Mary honors Mary and seeks her intercession, rooted in the annunciation and visitation events from Luke’s Gospel. Developed over centuries, it blends scriptural greetings with a request for Mary’s prayerful support now and at life’s end.

  • The Creed

    The Nicene and Apostles Creed encapsulate essential Christian doctrine, fostering unity and safeguarding orthodoxy. The Nicene Creed emerged from the 325 Council of Nicaea to combat heresy (including Arianism which questioned Jesus’ Divine nature), while the Apostles Creed was rooted in early Church tradition, succinctly summarizing apostolic teaching. Both affirm foundational beliefs and Catholic identity and are recited in the mass.
